Unapologetic self-respect

This piece is about unapologetic self-respect and not letting others set their expectations of you. I chose to work with a skunk skull to best represent this theme for two major reasons. The first one being the impenetrable boundaries the skunk represents. Indeed, the skunk's infamous defense mechanism acts as a metaphor for establishing clear personal limits. It is the ultimate message that you have the right to protect your energy and walk away from demands that don't align with your values. The second reason I chose the skunk is because it represents the ultimate quiet confidence. Skunks are mostly gentle, non-aggressive creatures. Their striking black-and-white stripes serve as a bold warning that their peace isn't to be disturbed. Similarly, you do not need to fight to reject others' expectations, you simply need to stand your ground and let your self-respect do the talking. Thank you for sharing your growth Daisy.

This piece is one of the thirty (30) pieces I created for the growth collection. This collection focuses on growth, represented by florals. It’s about learning from failures, adapting & embracing challenges. 

For the first time ever, this collection is a collaboration between my patrons, followers, and me. In May 2026, I asked anyone interested to share with me an ability, value, purpose or mindset that they were working on or recently acquired, demonstrating their personal growth and healing. I was absolutely grateful from all the responses I got and the inspiration came overflowing. Based on personal growth and healing, I think we collectively changed.

Personal growth is wonderful, collective growth is magical and I believe in sharing our journeys and uplifting each other.
